Hopper Fabrication

Hopper fabrication made to withstand heavy agricultural use

For over 30 years, Lycett Fabrications has been manufacturing medium and heavy steel fabrications for a range of industries including mining engineering, material handling, oil and gas engineering, nuclear and renewable energy, transport, farming and agriculture, environmental and yellow goods, including hopper fabrication.

Working with customers from the agricultural sector, we are able to deliver high-quality steel fabrications that improve their workflow and increase efficiency.  These include seed drills, back loaders and hopper fabrications, all of which are made to be robust, and can withstand heavy use and all types of weather conditions.

Hopper fabrication with quality from start to finish

Hoppers are most often used to dispense grain through the use of a chute which restricts the flow.  This means that the fabrication needs to be free from areas where grain can get trapped. Our coded welders ensure that the hopper is welded to the highest quality, with strong, continuous welds.  Once the hopper fabrication is completed, it will be subjected to shot blasting to deburr and to remove any scale left behind after heat treatment.

All of the hopper fabrication projects we undertake are guided by strict quality control measures accredited to ISO 9001:2008, CE marking approval to BS EN 1090-1 for structural steelwork, and our shot blasting services operates to BS EN ISO 8501-1: 2007 (SA2.5) Surface Preparation Standard.

Our engineers are trained and qualified in a range of processes which includes NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) qualifications, PCN (Personnel Certification in Non-Destructive Testing) to level 2, CSWIP (Certification Scheme for Welding Inspection Personnel) levels 1 and 2, and qualifications to 9606-1 2013 in MAG and MMA welding.
